The Veterans Writing Collective serves all veterans, active-duty military, and military family members, and offer a workshop environment during which you can read your creative work and receive honest, constructive feedback to support your writing. Meetings are held on the Methodist University campus (usually in Trustees’ Building, room 214) and are always free and open to the public.

Our Mission

The mission of the Veterans Writing Collective is to encourage the art of writing and to provide a workshop environment in which participants offer honest, positive feedback on members’ writing. The group is open to writers of all genres—including poetry, fiction, creative nonfiction, memoir, drama, and journaling—and is open to all active-duty military, veterans, and family members. And we always welcome new members.

We also provide publishing and reading opportunities to our group members.
